Beaulieu Vineyard, the home of the renowned visionary Georges de Latour, celebrates a historic milestone this year, its 116th anniversary. Located in the heart of the Napa Valley, off Highway 29, Beaulieu Vineyard welcomes visitors, near and far, to one of the finest wineries in the world.
In 1900, Georges de Latour founded his winery with the vision of creating world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from the exceptional terroir of Rutherford. Today, Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has become the benchmark Napa Valley Cabernet as well as one of the most collected American wines.
Wine lovers are greeted with a glass of wine – staying true to Latour’s hospitality tradition – then guests have a choice of tasting a wide range of wines in one of Beaulieu’s four distinct tasting rooms. For those without a reservation, the visitor center is the perfect place to visit as the sun filters through the center over two tasting bars, warming the top and lower levels of the BV tasting rooms with light. The rooms showcase vintage photos of the de Latour family, original artwork by local artists and offer a diverse tasting wine menu. On the upper level, visitors may sample four select tastings off a set menu, for $20. Outside, there’s the new Patio Tasting for $25 (weather permitting). Each unique tasting features a variety of wines, such as the limited-production Maestro series of wines available only at the winery.
Seated Cabernet Comparison Experience:
This in-depth, 45-minute, seated tasting walks you through the current Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon releases from BV’s historic Vineyards on the Rutherford Bench. One of the highly trained Wine Educators will compare and contrast four highly coveted Cabernet Sauvignons from the Beaulieu portfolio while discussing the differences and similarities. Designed for wine aficionados of all levels, this tasting is a must for fans of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Exclusive Area for Wine Club Members
Wine club members with reservations are invited to enjoy the Club Room, located just beneath the Main Tasting Room. This exclusive area provides members with a comfortable and elegant atmosphere in which to enjoy newly released Beaulieu wines and learn more about the history of BV. A wine educator leads members through exclusive tastings of all of the wines including many of the renowned Reserve tier wines such as the 2013 Carneros Reserve Pinot Noir, 2012 Tapestry Reserve and the flagship 2012 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
Comprehensive Wine Library
For the true wine connoisseur wanting a more personalized retrospective experience, the Beaulieu Vineyard Reserve tasting room can’t be missed, housing one of the most comprehensive wine libraries in California. The Beaulieu Vineyard Reserve Room offers guests the opportunity to taste vintage Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and includes one of their current vintages and four older vintages of Georges de Latour, guided by one of their knowledgeable Wine Educators. The selection of vintages varies by day and availability. Cost is $35 for Georges de Latour Private Reserve wines and $50 for the Retrospective tasting. BV Wine Club members can receive this experience at half price.
