Beaulieu Vineyard, the home of the renowned visionary Georges de Latour, celebrates a historic milestone this year, its 116th anniversary. Located in the heart of the Napa Valley, off Highway 29, Beaulieu Vineyard welcomes visitors, near and far, to one of the finest wineries in the world. In 1900, Georges de Latour founded his winery with the vision of creating world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from the exceptional terroir of Rutherford. Today, Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has become the benchmark Napa Valley Cabernet as well as one of the most collected American wines.
Tasting Options Abound
Wine lovers are greeted with a glass of wine — staying true to Latour’s hospitality tradition — then guests have a choice of tasting a wide range of wines in one of Beaulieu’s four distinct tasting rooms. For those without a reservation, the Main Tasting Room is the perfect place to visit as the sun filters through over two tasting bars, warming the top and lower Club level with light. The rooms showcase vintage photos of the de Latour family, original artwork by local artists and offer a diverse tasting wine menu. On the upper level of the Main Tasting Room the focus of the guest experience is the Maestro series of wines available only at the winery. Visitors may choose between the Maestro Tasting of four select wines off a set menu, for $20, or the Premier Maestro Tasting which features four wines from the Reserve Maestro Collection including two signature Rutherford Bench Cabernets, for $30.
New Seated Georges de Latour Vertical Experience
For the passionate wine collector, Beaulieu has launched a new 90-minute, private seated tasting, centered around the history of Beaulieu Vineyard and the Georges de Latour Private Reserve wine. Guests enjoy a five-year vertical of the Beaulieu Vineyard flagship Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon culminating with a special older vintage pulled from the Library. At $100 per person, this experience offers the serious wine collector an unparalleled, in-depth tasting of one of Napa Valley’s most iconic Cabernets.
Reserve Tasting Options
For the wine connoisseur seeking to experience Beaulieu’s collection of Reserve wines, the Reserve Tasting room can’t be missed. For $40, the Reserve Tasting offers a selection of current vintage Reserve wines with no reservations required. The most unique element of the Reserve Tasting Room, however, is that it houses one of the most comprehensive wine libraries in California. The Retrospective Reserve Tasting offers guests the opportunity to taste a flight of Library vintages of the Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Tapestry Bordeaux blend and the Clone series of Cabernet Sauvignon, guided by one of their knowledgeable Wine Educators. The selection of vintages varies by day and availability; cost is $60. BV Wine Club members can receive this experience at half price.
Exclusive Area for Wine Club Members
Wine club members with reservations are invited to enjoy the Club Room, located just beneath the Main Tasting Room. This exclusive area provides members with a comfortable and elegant atmosphere in which to enjoy newly released Beaulieu wines and learn more about the history of BV. A wine educator leads members through exclusive tastings of all of the wines including many of the renowned Reserve tier wines such as the 2014 Carneros Reserve Pinot Noir, 2013 Tapestry Reserve and the flagship 2013 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
Historic & Barrel Tasting Tour
If you have the time, take the Historic & Barrel Tasting tour through the most historic part of the winery built back in 1885 and guided by one of their knowledgeable Wine Educators. Amongst the beauty of their more than 100-year-old Redwood Tanks, you will enjoy a barrel tasting of two of their famous Cabernet Sauvignons. You will then be guided back to their Heritage Room where the most interesting parts of their history are out on display. Tours are offered at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily. At Beaulieu Vineyard, you will savor over a century of winemaking in every bottle of delicious Beaulieu Vineyard wine!
