The sun is shining on an endless sea of vineyards. You’re sipping a luscious glass of Sangiovese and dipping fresh bread in a bowl of rich, buttery olive oil. A scene from a villa in Tuscany? No, just another perfect afternoon at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards in Sonoma.
The Jacuzzi family first emigrated from Italy in the early 1900s to work on the railroad. Eventually, the Jacuzzi brothers ventured into the aviation business and the spa business. Opening Jacuzzi Family Vineyards represented a lifelong dream for Fred Cline. It was his way of honoring his beloved grandfather, Valeriano Jacuzzi, on whose Oakley farm Fred learned as a teenager and young man how to tease grapes and produce from the soil. The building that houses Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and The Olive Press is a tribute to the Jacuzzi family home in Casarsa, Italy. The vineyards lie primarily in the Los Carneros and Sonoma Coast wine regions. The winery and tasting room are situated on one hundred and ninety acres that boast rolling green hills and the historic flatlands of the San Pablo Bay. Concentrating on Italian wines, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards produces Barbera, Montepulciano, Moscato, Dolcetto, Aleatico, Aglianico, Primitivo and more. There is no need for a passport to be transported to the wine regions of Italy, just a short drive to Sonoma will provide all the charm, scenery and magnificent wines reminiscent of Italy.
