Trinchero Napa Valley
Top Scores for Two Trinchero Cabernet Sauvignons
Time to celebrate! As harvest time settles down in wine country, Trinchero Napa Valley is celebrating two of its Cabernet Sauvignon’s impressive scores.
2013 Central Park West Cabernet Sauvignon
95 Points James Suckling
This 22-acre vineyard is a level site with deep, loamy soils, good sun exposure and excellent air circulation — the ideal situation for producing classic Napa Valley Cabernet.
“A stunner that draws you in with enchantingly deep purple color and aromas of vine-ripe blackberries, currants and black raspberries, toasted brioche and an underlying earthy-minerality,” according to Winemaker Mario Monticelli.
2013 Haystack Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
91+ Points Wine Advocate
Perched 1,500 feet above sea level in the Vaca Mountains, this craggy, extremely rocky site stresses the vines, resulting in small, intensely-concentrated berries.
“Concentrated dark purple in color, this wine is bursting with aromas of dark fruit,” notes Monticelli, “Ripe blackberry and black cherry dominate the nose, underscored by subtle hints of crushed rock. The finish is long and lingering with a chewy texture.”
