Triple S Ranch

Your Private Napa Valley Estate

Just outside of Calistoga, on a west-facing plateau overlooking undulating grapevines, you will find Triple S Ranch. As historical as it is beautiful, the ranch has 20 acres of orchards and old-growth trees alongside Victorian buildings that have been lovingly restored, enhanced and updated.

The ranch is a passion project for owner Derek Webb, a former finance guru who craved a break from the barrage of technology and his high-stress job and sought out 19th-century ranches to restore. First up was Spring Ranch on the Mendocino Coast, followed by Triple S Ranch in Calistoga. Webb refurbished both ranches, using period antiques, artifacts and architectural salvage he collected from all over the world, while also upgrading each to luxury status. Both properties are available to rent out for private events, retreats and weddings.

Period elements at Triple S Ranch transport guests back to old California and blend seamlessly with the indulgences of a 5-star resort with a modern rural steampunk vibe. The ranch has always been an integral part of the commercial and social life in the Napa Valley area, with a colorful history as a winery, working ranch and restaurant. An ancient grove of walnuts includes a massive 175-year-old tree that has famously presided over countless weddings. The property boasts a perfectly preserved and meticulously renovated Victorian house, a Vintner’s Barn that has been converted into a 2,400-square-foot event space, with a restaurant-quality kitchen and 14 charming cabins. Webb added a pool, gym and infinity hot tub, spacious decks and stone patios. The property can host an event of up to 200 people (with accommodations for 50 on site). Tranquil spaces indoors along with 10,000 square feet of room for outdoor entertaining provide ample options to celebrate and convene. Should guests choose to venture out of this oasis, Triple S Ranch sits high above the Knights Valley Appellation, so it’s no surprise that wine tasting experiences abound. A short jaunt will take guests into the heart of the quaint village of Calistoga, renowned for farm-to-table dining and world-class spas and mud baths.

Webb’s other property, Spring Ranch, in boho chic Mendocino County, provides an intimate, seaside idyll and can host parties of up to 200. One of the oldest complete coastal ranches in California, the original property encompasses 350 breathtakingly unspoiled acres of meadows, forest, and trails along the pristine Pacific coastline. The Victorian buildings have been lovingly restored and upgraded with antiques and indulgent amenities. Nineteen people total can sleep on site in a majestic Carpenter Gothic Victorian mansion and a renovated original Carriage Barn with treehouse-like views of the ocean. An 1840s Event Barn that was salvaged from Canada and rebuilt on site has soaring ceilings and two spaces to entertain, either inside the barn or outdoors by a massive stone fireplace.

Triple S Ranch and Spring Ranch are perfectly in sync with the trend of renting out an entire property and handcrafting a custom event or wedding. The full rental of each ranch includes the exclusive use of the entire property and all amenities. Alternately, the Vintner’s Barn at Triple S Ranch and the Event Barn at Spring Ranch are available to rent out for single-day use, and are the perfect venues for our winery neighbors to host an intimate gathering.

“In a world where authenticity is in short supply, we offer a taste of a bygone age when life was simpler and we could live at our own pace, in harmony with the land,” says Webb. “These historic and magical properties are a refuge from the day-to-day that provide a contemporary luxury experience while also taking guests on a journey into the past.”
