Casual elegance best describes our approach to presenting delicious wines with memorable hospitality, overlooking spectacular vineyard views. Cast crafts small quantities of estate and locally grown wines including an amazingly fresh Sauvignon Blanc, elegant Zinfandels and an inky Petite Sirah. Every visit starts with our sparkling Blanc de Noirs and includes tasty local cheeses. Don’t miss our reserve wines from epic vineyards including Bacigalupi Pinot Noir and Keefer Ranch Chardonnay. Choose our alfresco seated terrace or stroll glass-in-hand through the vineyard and winery on an informative “Cast Experience” tour. Either way, this magical place will cast a spell on you!
Do you believe in magic? If you don’t, you just might change your mind after a visit to Cast Wines.
Meander your way north from Healdsburg on gently curving Dry Creek Road. You’ll pass through vineyard-striped hills, olive groves, ancient oak and redwood trees and dozens of picturesque wineries – it all sets the stage for your destination.
Upon arrival at Cast Wines, you will feel the spell cast upon you, just like the owners did. The winery sits up on a wooded knoll and the views are spectacular! The winery itself is a golden, barn-like structure with a rust colored roof. The structure casts a warm glow on all its surroundings, adding to the ambience. One great feature is that you will drive right past the winery on your way to your tasting adventure. This is a small working winery (only about 4000 cases produced per year) and you’ll see the tanks and barrels as you enter the parking lot.
One of Cast’s friendly and knowledgeable cast members (sorry – couldn’t help myself) will greet you and show you to a table on the patio/terrace, where you will enjoy a flight of wonderful wines.
Tasting fees are $15-$25 per person for groups of eight or less. Cheese and charcuterie plates are available for an additional charge. Tours are available by advance reservation.
A separate picnic area is available, where you may linger and take in the magical views as you enjoy your wines and picnic fare.
The pace at Cast Wines is slow and unhurried, the staff is wonderful, the wines are absolutely delicious and the ambience is, well, magical.
The name Cast was conceived by the winery owners over a bottle of wine at sunset, sitting on the site of the future tasting room. They were completely mesmerized by the stunning surroundings and felt that a spell had been
“cast’ upon them.
