Kenwood Vineyards produces the classic varietal wines that the state is known for: Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Merlot. True to its history, Kenwood is housed in the original winery buildings. Inside, the winery has been redesigned with winemaking versatility in mind.
Established in the 1970s in the very heart of Sonoma Valley, Kenwood Vineyards, along with a handful of other wineries, started premium winemaking in the region long before Sonoma’s AVAs were even created. As one of California’s premium wine pioneers, Kenwood Vineyards initiated their passion in an original Sonoma barn building that dates back to 1906, where their tasting room is located today. They stay true to their historical past by producing wines from each vineyard separately, as they did 48 vintages ago.
This small-lot approach to winemaking allows to bring each wine to its full potential to showcase vibrant fruit, layers of subtle complexity and superb balance. As a result, every Kenwood Vineyards wine – whether Sonoma County, Six Ridges, Single Vineyard, Jack London or Artist Series – is consistent in quality and consistently delicious.
For more than three decades, Kenwood Vineyards’ award-winning Artist Series collection remains the ultimate expression of artistry and fine winemaking by blending the finest Cabernet Sauvignon produced from the very best vineyards in Sonoma County. Winemaker and artist come together to explore the unique terroir, vintage conditions and ultimately the wine crafted for each release. The artistry displayed on the bottle and within makes each new Artist Series release an event and every Artist Series vintage a prime collectible. These age-worthy wines are full-bodied with richly layered fruit, integrated oak and polished texture.
No visit to Sonoma Valley is complete without visiting Kenwood Vineyards and tasting their delicious 90+ point wines that are pure expressions of the rich and diverse terroir of Sonoma. Celebrate Kenwood Vineyards’ commitment to the craft of winemaking by exploring this historic property and experiencing one of their tastings – Classic, Vintner’s Choice or Single Vineyard.
