Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards
New Sparkling Rosé, Arbequina Olive Oil & Upcoming Events
Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards is a storied estate and master of méthode champenoise sparkling wines in Sonoma County. The estate is loved by locals and visitors alike for its panoramic views of abundant vines and countryside, as well as their classic collection of sparkling and still wines that can be tasted during a variety of elevated experiences. Whether you’re enjoying a flight or glass in the modern tasting room or out on the picturesque terrace, an afternoon spent at Gloria Ferrer is an afternoon well spent.
Founded in 1986 with a winegrowing history that dates back to Spain more than 600 hundred years ago, Gloria Ferrer pays tribute to their Spanish homeland and Cava-production roots with their méthode champenoise sparkling wines; as well as honors Sonoma County with their bottlings of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay—classic varietals for the local Los Carneros winegrowing region.
A New Companion Added to the Sparkling Collection
The Carneros Cuvée Rosé is soon to be released and added to the already-incredible offering of sparkling wines at Gloria Ferrer. Inspired by the 2007 Carneros Cuvée—a delicious, quintessential blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that spent nine years on lees—the new Carneros Cuvée Rosé is a sophisticated sparkling wine with luscious red fruit flavors. This tasty cuvée spent five years on the lees and is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Only 1,000 cases have been made and the wine will be released on November 1st, 2018—just in time to stock up for your Thanksgiving table! This new companion to the original Carneros Cuvée is perfect as an aperitif or paired with cheese, charcuterie and meats such as turkey and salmon.
2018 Vintage Arbequina Olive Oil Release
In addition to the new Carneros Cuvée Rosé, the estate is excited to announce the release of their 2018 Arbequina vintage olive oil in mid-November. This is only the third year that this limited-production Arbequina olive oil has been released. Paying homage to their Spanish roots, the Arbequina olive varietal hails from Catalonia, Spain, and is made using exclusively Arbequina olives grown on the Gloria Ferrer estate.
A Chance to Indulge With the Winemaker
Coming up on the horizon are two of Gloria Ferrer’s much-loved estate events: The Winter Crab Feed in January and the Winemaker Dinner in February. Tickets are still available for both The Winter Crab Feed, and for the Winemaker Dinner! The intimate winemaker dinner is club exclusive and will be hosted by Winemaker Steven Urberg featuring four courses served in the wine cave; each course will be paired perfectly with one of Gloria Ferrer’s award-winning wines. Hosted on February 9th from 6:30-9:30pm, tickets cost $150 per person and can be purchased on www.gloriaferrer.com.
Tasting Flights, Elevated Experiences & Tours
If you’re visiting the estate, you can enjoy a range of tasting flight options ($25-$40); or if you have a hankering for something specific, wine by the glass is also available ($9-$25). NEW: three Estate Pinot Noirs paired with bacon seasoned in three separate ways to highlight the nuiances of the wine ($50). There are also tasty small bites, cheese and charcuterie plates available for purchase and pairing with any flight or glass!
