Visit St. Francis Winery

and Delight Your Senses

Your senses might just go on overload when visiting St. Francis Visitors Center this summer. This site is the jewel of Sonoma Valley with its mission-style building set off by lovely Mediterranean gardens spectacular in their summer bloom and breathtaking views of Hood Mountain with sweeping vineyard vistas. Experiencing one of their delicious and creative wine and food tastings amidst such natural beauty certainly heightens the senses.
While the wine is the star, food is part of every tasting, with a charming amuse bouchée offered to guests who taste wine at the main bar. A Wine & Charcuterie tasting, which is served al fresco May thru October, includes a flight of St. Francis wines presented with a rustic Charcuterie plate which will include the chef’s house-made pâtés, rillettes, along with the best artisan made cheeses, salumis and olives. The addition of a seasonal selection of locally made specialty bread turns this tasting into a delightful afternoon repast.
Another option, Wine Dining, takes wine and food pairing into the realm of traditional fine dining with its white tablecloths, crystal glasses and professional service. But then it breaks all the rules by using food in playful, unexpected ways that create a delectable, fluid harmony with the wine. Winemaker Tom Mackey’s hand-crafted Artisan Series of wines from Sauvignon Blanc to Heritage Zinfandels, were created to be the perfect partner for this range of culinary styles.
Historically, St. Francis has a national reputation and local following for excellence and goes beyond what others consider the “basics” by providing outstanding wines, exceptional food and staff who are committed to exceeding visitors expectations. Director of Hospitality, Tricia Stock, orchestrates these elements and presents them to the public with an array of tasting and educational opportunities. She encourages visitors to experience what she refers to as Slow Wine; wine and food shared with friends without pretense or circumstance in a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
All of the tasting options at St. Francis Winery are hosted by the friendliest, most wine educated, staff in the wine country who help the guest learn about the combination of flavors in a fun, informative way.
