Sterling Vineyards

Always polished, never dull

A top destination for wine lovers exploring Napa Valley

This rural hilltop parcel purchased in the early 1960s evolved into a premier Wine Country destination, lauded for its impressive wine portfolio, stunning
views and unique tasting experiences.

Perched 300 feet above the town of Calistoga, Sterling Vineyards features exquisite panoramic views and offers an exclusive opportunity to ascend the hill to the winery aboard Napa Valley’s only aerial tram.

Sterling Vineyards was founded in 1964 by British International paper broker, Oxford University graduate and former London Financial Times writer, Peter Newton.

The winery’s architecture was modeled after that of the Greek island of Mykonos, where Newton once lived. The winery’s towers house eight bells from London’s Church of St. Dunstan’s-in-the-East, originally founded in the 10th century. The brilliant white winery stands out dramatically against the rugged Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges that flank each side of Napa Valley.
