Castoro Cellars
Something for Everyone

It was 1983 when Niels and Bimmer Udsen started their journey of producing world-class wines from Paso Robles appellation grapes. Now, almost 40 years later, Castoro Cellars is 100% organically farmed (largest organic grower on the Central Coast) with a state-of-the-art facility that also hosts lively weekend music events, offers an 18-hole disc golf course in the vineyard and monthly Yoga Brunch classes. But that’s not all! Across the way you can visit their Bethel Rd. Distillery and Winery!

Castoro Cellars WhaleRock

Castoro Cellars works to give back to the community in other ways as well. It hosts the annual Whale Rock Music & Art Festival to raise money for the Templeton High School Music Program – so far more than $100,000 has been raised!

Castoro Cellars Solar Panels and Vineyard

An Emphasis on Sustainability

One of the ways Castoro Cellars pursues environmentally friendly practices is by powering its facilities with solar arrays. There are 15 arrays throughout Castoro’s various properties, covering more than four acres. These arrays are custom tailored to completely offset the energy used to operate every aspect of the business from winemaking to tasting room events.
Another way Castoro Cellars focuses on sustainability is by dedicating itself to organic and sustainable farming. Each of its 13 vineyards are farmed without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. Along with being 100% organically grown, every vineyard is also 100% SIP Certified (Sustainability in Practice), and various locations are farmed biodynamically.

Bethel Rd. Distillery & Winery

Bethel Rd. Distillery and Winery

Bethel Rd. Distillery and Winery, is the result of Niels’ longtime desire to make Grappa – a grape-based brandy that he enjoyed decades ago in Italy. His son, Max, is the head distiller at Bethel Rd. and Luke oversees marketing.
“We’re always looking for new challenges and new ways to express ourselves through the beautiful fruit we grow,” said Luke Udsen. “Bethel Rd. Distillery & Winery is the perfect opportunity for us to explore the world of small-batch craft spirits and wines.”
There are nine varieties to choose from. They include Bethel Rd. House Brandy, Grappa Di Moscato, Grappa di Primitivo, House Gin, Barrel Aged House Gin, Orange Muscat Brandy, Orange Liqueur, American Brandy and Nocino. For $129 per shipment Bethel Rd. Spirit & Cocktail Club members receive two shipments with 2-3 bottles of Bethel Rd. spirits, and all the ingredients you need to make one-of-a-kind cocktails at home. For more information, visit the website at www.BethelRdDistillery.com. Visit Bethel Rd. Distillery between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday - Thursday. Make an appointment by calling (805) 434-0319; also open for walk-ups.
