Founded by the family behind Champagne Taittinger, the méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine house of Domaine Carneros was inspired by the 18th century Château de la Marquetterie in Champagne, France. Located in the Carneros District, the Château was completed in 1989 with no detail spared to showcase its magnificent architecture and grounds. From the grand staircase guiding you through the formal gardens, to the spacious outdoor terrace and conservatory-style salon for tableside service of their estate wines, Domaine Carneros captures the elegance of French wine country in Napa Valley.

Maintaining the tradition of visionary female leadership, the now-retired Eileen Crane recently passed the CEO torch to Remi Cohen in 2020 after 30-plus years of winemaking excellence. Remi brings with her more than two decades of wine industry experience and will continue to oversee their iconic collection of vintage-dated cuvees, luxury-tiered Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs and estate pinot noir program. Furthering the winery’s ethos of living light on the land, Remi and team continue sustainable farming practices on their 400 acres of estate fruit to support their on-going commitment to “quality first” every step of the way. Domaine Carneros focuses on water and energy conservation, recycling and composting programs, and a solar collection system thereby reducing their overall waste and minimizing their carbon footprint. They are California Certified Sustainable and hold Napa Green Land and Napa Green Winery certifications as well.

Elevated Tasting Experiences

To fully enjoy the sparkling wines of Domaine Carneros, choose from a series of elevated tastings which will educate in a relaxed and engaging way to showcase the best of Carneros and its terroir. Allow a minimum of 90-minutes for each tasting. Reservations for all tastings available here. 

Bubbles & Bites, A Journey to Spain: Featuring top-rated Carneros Sparkling Wines – Ultra Brut, Estate Brut Cuvée, Brut Rosé, and Verméil Demi-Sec expertly curated to pair with four seasonal savory and one sweet tapas-style small bites. Hosted by their most seasoned wine educators, this tasting journey demonstrates why sparkling wines aren’t just for special occasions anymore. The Art of Sabrage: Have you ever wondered how sommeliers open a bottle of bubbly with a huge sword? In the new “Art of Sabrage Tasting”, you’ll learn first-hand from the winery experts about the Champagne Saber’s history, methodology, and how this practice dates to the age of Napoleon. Your host will provide a dramatic demonstration of how to properly (and safely) saber a bottle. Included in this exciting experience are tastes of their Ultra Brut, Brut Rosé, Late Disgorged Brut, and Le Rêve paired to a selection of artisanal specialties from local Journeyman Meat Co., Cowgirl Creamery, and Tsar Nicolai Caviar–each bite thoughtfully selected to enhance their méthode traditionelle sparkling wines. Available daily, by appointment at $150 per person, club members are $120 per person.

The Colors of Carneros highlights the best of their Carneros estate vineyards with their 2019 Brut Rosé, 2020 Estate Pinot Noir, and 2017 Estate Brut. Presented in their signature blue box, each wine reflects their decades of winemaking expertise from their six estate vineyards.

In 2018, the Château was graced with a dramatic garden conservatory called the Jardin d’Hiver—a grand glass room that immerses guests in the spectacular Carneros landscape while sheltering from the elements. In celebration, this limited edition Jardin d'Hiver Cuvée, a dry and richly layered Late Disgorged Ultra Brut, was just released November 25.
