Ian McPhee, proprietor of McPhees Grill in Templeton (est. 1994), recently took over the former Tin Canteen; this is the only full-time eatery in Tin City, an easy walk from any Tin City locale.

McPhees Canteen is safely open for counter service take out seven days a week.  The current menu features a variety of Americana Comfort Foods – all suitable for picnicking or “carnicking.”  Choose from a variety of shareable sized salads, pizzas, burgers (including their mouthwatering American Kobe burger), sandwiches (try a grilled shrimp Po’ boy) and don’t forget to add a side to your order!

Sourcing from local purveyors as much as possible, you will find the same high quality, service and mouthwatering foods that McPhee’s grill has built a reputation on.

Right now, Ian McPhee is concentrating on providing Tin City visitors a place where they can make the most of their tasting room visits by serving up satisfying, familiar, tasty food items.  Ian plans future menu expansion, as we work our way out of the pandemic and lockdowns; “we plan to open a meat counter featuring many of the same protein items found on the McPhees Grill menu, including our BBQ sauces and even some dinner kits.  We’d like to expand to dinner, with a three-course prix fixe menu, plus menu and service items as circumstances dictate.  Looking forward, we have a blank canvas to work with-and are excited for the possibilities moving into 2021.”
